Acrostics are crosswords with a twist: find the hidden quote. This combination of crossword and cryptogram provides an entertaining brain workout. Each letter in the quote is linked to a letter in one of the clue answers. As you fill in more and more answers, more letters will begin to fill the quote grid, until eventually the entire quote is revealed. Once the quote is partially filled in, you can also do this process in reverse – each letter you add to the quote will fill in the corresponding letter in the clue answers. By working back-and-forth, eventually the entire quote and all clue answers will be revealed.
The app includes 60 free quality puzzles with no ads, ever. They range from beginner to expert from renowned publishers like Acrostica, Acrostics by Cyn, Lovatts Puzzles, PennyPress Crostics, Puzzle Baron and Spanish language puzzles from Tav Ripo. Additional puzzle packs containing 48 to 50 puzzles are available for a small fee; the full library is over 6350 puzzles!
Advanced play features include automatic grid updating and indexing, see related cells, multi-level undo, remove errors, and hints. A wide range of difficulty levels will challenge beginners and seasoned players alike.

It is now simpler to clear puzzles to play them again, or review recently solved puzzles. The new "Solved Puzzles" button near the bottom of the main screen replaces the separate library tab. The bottom tabs have been removed completely and Help is moved to the top of the screen above the badges. This frees up space on the screen and overall simplifies the app (and hopefully I won't get emails asking me how to re-play puzzles anymore!). The User Guide has been updated with information about expert ratings and clearing puzzles.

Added expert badges for more puzzles. Fixed some rare crashes.
Many customers have asked for expert ratings on puzzles other than Puzzle Baron. Now, finally, thanks to many people solving puzzles over the past 2 years, we have timings for all but the newest puzzles. Now, if you solve puzzles without hints, faster than most people, your Expert count will increase.
Fixed a crash caused by choosing "Solve Puzzle" and then closing the app. This was a rare but consistent crash that was showing up in the logs a few times a month for no apparent reason. It was never reported by anyone, but at Egghead Games we're a little obsessed with making our apps perfect!
Last but not least, the app size is 20-30% smaller now after finishing a 6 month migration effort from a 3rd party database. This makes the app faster to use and easier to improve.
